What you are buying

A single payment of $99 USD gives you 12 months of access to the First Year Dog iPhone app and its training content, starting on the day you pay.

Buying on the web or in the app

You can buy on this website, or buy inside the app. They are the same product and the same access; you only need one.

If you buy inside the app, Apple handles the payment. Apple is the merchant: the charge appears on your Apple account, and refunds for in-app purchases are requested from Apple, not from us — reportaproblem.apple.com. The 30-day promise below is ours and applies to purchases made on this website. If Apple declines a refund you think you deserve, email us anyway and we will see what we can do.

It does not auto-renew

This is not a subscription. We will not charge you again. When the 12 months end, access ends — we will email you before that happens, and you can choose to buy another year or not.

You need an iPhone

First Year Dog requires an iPhone or iPad running iOS 18 or later. There is no Android version and no web version. If you buy without an Apple device you will not be able to use it — please don't, and if you do, email us and we will refund you in full.

Refunds

30 days, no questions asked. Email hello@firstyeardog.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund the full $99. You do not have to explain why and we will not try to talk you out of it. Refunds are issued to the original payment method, normally within five working days. This is in addition to any statutory rights you have.

The in-app assistant

The app includes an assistant that answers training questions. It is generated by a language model, it can be wrong, and it is not veterinary or behavioural advice. Treat it as a starting point, not an authority. See the note below about what this product is not.

Your account and your content

Your account is yours. Photos and notes you add stay yours — we store them to show them back to you and we do not use them for anything else. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app at any time: Settings › Delete Account.

Getting access after you pay

After checkout you will be given a code and shown where to download the app. The code is also emailed to you. If anything goes wrong, email us — we will sort it out manually.

What this is not

First Year Dog is training education, not veterinary or behavioural advice. It is written for ordinary puppy raising. If your dog shows aggression, severe fear, or any sudden behaviour change, see a vet or a qualified behaviourist. Do not rely on an app for those. We cannot promise particular results: dogs differ, households differ, and how much you practise matters more than anything we write.

Fair use

Your access is for you and your household. Please don't share your code publicly, or copy and redistribute the content. We may end access without refund if it is being resold or shared at scale.

Changes

We may update the content and these terms. If we change something that materially affects what you bought, we will email you. Material changes do not apply retroactively to a year you have already paid for.

Note: these terms describe how the product is actually intended to work and are written to be plain and honest rather than comprehensive. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before running paid traffic, have them checked and add the registered company name, number, address and governing law — Stripe and the ad platforms both look for these, and their absence is a common cause of account review.
